A blogger I am very fond of, Jane, over at Theycallmejane's Blog, was kind enough to bestow this award on me a couple of weeks ago. Jane's blog is clever and honest, and I make sure to check in there every day.
Before passing this award on, I am supposed to share 7 random things about myself. I am so bad at this but here goes:
-I always wanted to be an actress. I have a secret hankering for the stage and plan on getting back to community theater when Daughter #2 goes off to college (I know, I've said that one before; I told you I was bad at this).
-In 5th grade I brought a baby picture of me to school and told everyone I had a baby sister. Wishful thinking I guess. I probably also wanted to see how many people I could get to believe me. I confessed the truth only days later.
-I wrote my first complete novel when I was 11 (and no, it's not available at Barnes & Noble).
-I am addicted to the TV shows Lost and Friday Night Lights. Okay, and America's Next Top Model, but that is secret info that is not to be shared beyond this page.
-One of my dreams is to go live in Ireland for at least 6 months one day and work on a novel.
That's it. Only 5, I know. Just deal with it.
The 3 bloggers I would like to pass this award on to are:
-Mama Badger over at out of the boondocks and into the burbs... : Been following her blog for a while now. She never fails to make me smile.
-Ocean Girl at Live High: A fairly new discovery. Her world couldn't be more different than mine, and I am intrigued by everything she has to say.
-Heather at Welch Happenings: Also a new discovery. She has a friendly, open style of writing that always leaves me feeling like we've just sat down together for a cup of coffee.
Okay. Now go check out these women, and say hi from me.

Wow, Maureen...I've noticed the "book" is the recurring theme....any plans to get on that? You really, really should....'cause you're really, really good.
You pretended you had a baby sister?? Aw....I think that's sweet. You should have checked with me...I'm sure I would have been happy to part with one of mine.
Congrats to you and all the recipients!

Maureen, stupid me, I'm crying like at the Oscar. Thank you and I didn't prepare my speech so I must before I forget, thank my two sons.
Congratulations Maureen, you know, I actually wait for your posts :) There is just that something about you.

Congrats on your great award!
You wrote a novel when you were 11? Wow!
I never had to pretend I had a younger brother or sister... I have 1 sister and 3 brothers younger than me! I'd probably pretend I was an only child! (I also have 2 older sisters and an older brother)
I never had any ambitions to take to the stage, but my 2 girls have and I love seeing them perform!

Congratulations! You deserve it.
My acting is mediocre at best; I did quite a bit in high school, but my ex was heavily involved in local community theatre (although you'd have thought he was on freakin' Broadway the way he carried on about it), and that experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I couldn't write fiction to save my life either. I so envy you that talent!

We have similar dreams Maureen. I'm not really sure if I care where I could hole up for 6 months to write a book, although I think I might need a year ; -) I even get Keroauc yens for hitting the road and writing a novel while staying in motels, eating at diners, and traveling across country.
Many congrats on the award.

#5 is on my list, too. Well the living in Ireland part, not the novel writing.

Telling stories and living in stories and acting out stories and reading stories and watching stories. Methinks me senses a theme?

Why do I feel like watching TV is something I should be ashamed of?! It's like a guilty pleasure. It's hardly like I'm too "high brow"! I too love Lost and I watch American's Next Top Model...as well as too many others to list. I Tivo everything!
I am very impressed with the novel writing. I tried and got immediately bored with my story.

Well deserved award.
I hope you get to the stage and to Ireland. Maybe even both together!

Congratulations and thank you! My first award. And to have it bestowed by one of my favorite blogs. I'm all verklempt- talk amongst yourselves.
Your randoms are interesting. An actress, huh? You're far too beautiful for that. And the book? Get on that. I haven't had a good read in a while.
As for the picture of your little brother/sister? That has me thinking of telling my brother's story from childhood. I think I'll save it for Tuesday, though!

Hey, I want to live in Ireland too! I just obtained my Irish passport. I have duel citizenship because of my Irish mother.
But the economy over there is in tragic shape.
But everyone needs librarians!

Finally!! I found someone, besides me, who loves Friday Night Lights! Absolutely, no one else I know, watches this show. I think it's one of the best shows on tv. Plus, Kyle Chandler isn't too hard on the eyes.
